We envision Colorado as a superior place in which to live, for people and animals.

Mission
Our mission is to provide leadership and support in improving animal welfare in the state of Colorado. We are committed to making Colorado exemplary in animal welfare and philanthropy for animal welfare.

Strategies

• We offer charitable support through our grantmaking program to organizations that advance the Foundation's goal of establishing Colorado as a model state for the care and humane treatment of animals.
• We bring a scientific focus to the work of animal welfare through advocacy and funding for data collection. Dog Bite Study, Model State for Animal Welfare Initiative, Colorado Unwanted Horse Alliances, Paired Towns Study.
• We foster a culture of stewardship for animals through education initiatives: Coalition for Living Safetly with Dogs, The Urban Farm.
• We celebrate animal contributions. The human-animal connection is the primary focus of AAF's grantmaking. The main goals under this umbrella are unwanted horses, the LINK^TM between human violence and animal abuse, and animal assisted therapies.
• We convene community conversations on animal welfare.
