Data Collection

The Animal Assistance Foundation believes it is essential to design and implement animal welfare efforts based on data, not only emotions.

To that goal, AAF has supported a number of data collection projects:
o Model State for Animal Welfare Initiative
o Coalition for Living Safely with Dogs Dog Bite Survey
o Unwanted Horse Alliance

The AAF grantmaking process requires that grantees submit data on their day-to-day operations and on the impact of AAF's funding.

Two Data Task Forces were convened at the end of 2008 for input and review of the foudnation's analysis of Colorado animal shelter statistics.
