Paired Towns Study/Eastern Plains Initiative
The Animal Assistance Foundation is developing a study that will address the results of doing intensive spay/neuter efforts in rural Colorado communities. There will be a control group and a treatment group, each group including two towns. The intensive spay/neuter efforts will be performed by volunteer veterinarians in the treatment group towns.
Before the spay/neuter efforts, data collection will ask residents about their existing attitudes and opinions about animal ownership and animal care. After intensive spay/neuter efforts have been conducted in the treatment group towns, a second data collection effort will revisit those same topics.
